She studied art at Weymouth Training College in the sixties , gaining an Advanced Distinction in Art for her Teaching Diploma. Practical work towards this included pottery, silk screen printing, lino printing, book binding and painting.
Landscape painting in watercolour or pen and wash is a particular love. Di's style has been described as tonal with interesting light effects; she enjoys incorporating negative painting techniques into her work.
Di particularly enjoys drawing in urban situations, cafes or on music nights and uses her observations to inform figurative paintings, cartoons and caricature. Di is an elected member of the Cartoonist Club of Great Britain. She is well known for her historical illustrations which are well researched and humorous.
Di runs watercolour courses in the Midlands.
